Getting Back to God's Word

Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based Pastor Kiley's message Sunday.  This plan encourages deep reflection on core themes of faith, hope, and God's power, while prompting personal application and spiritual growth.

Day 1: The Power of God's: Read Proverbs 25:11-13, Hebrews 4:12-13
Just as Solomon spoke of "a word fitly spoken" being like "apples of gold in settings of silver," God's Word has the power to transform our lives. The Bible isn't merely a collection of ancient texts; it's a living, active force that can penetrate our hearts and minds. Today, reflect on how God's Word has impacted your life. Have you experienced its power to bring light into darkness or understanding to confusion? Ask God to renew your hunger for His Word and to speak to you through it afresh.

Day 2: Faith in Times of Decline: Read Romans 12:1-2, Hebrews 11:1-6
The transcription speaks of societal decline and the importance of holding fast to our faith. In a world that often seems to be moving away from God's principles, we're called to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This transformation comes through faith - believing in God's promises even when we can't see them fulfilled yet. Today, consider areas in your life or society where you see decline. How can you exercise faith in these areas? Pray for the strength to stand firm in your convictions and to be a light in the darkness.

Day 3: The Importance of Family and Discipline: Read Ephesians 6:1-4, Proverbs 22:6 The decline of family values and self-discipline were highlighted as signs of societal decay. As believers, we're called to nurture strong families and practice self-control. Reflect on your family relationships today. How can you strengthen them? If you're a parent, consider how you're guiding your children in God's ways. For everyone, examine areas where you might need more self-discipline. Ask God for wisdom in building a strong family (biological or spiritual) and for the fruit of self-control in your life.

Day 4: Protect Innocence and Nurture Growth: Read Matthew 18:1-6, 1 Corinthians 13:11
The transcription emphasized the importance of protecting children's innocence and allowing them to mature naturally. Jesus placed great value on children and their faith. As adults, we have a responsibility to nurture and protect the young, both physically and spiritually. Today, pray for the children in your life - your own, those in your church, or in your community. How can you contribute to their healthy growth and spiritual development? Ask God to show you ways to be a positive influence in a child's life.

Day 5: Being Light in the Darkness: Read Matthew 5:14-16, Ephesians 5:8-14
Just as the rediscovery of the Bible helped bring light to the Dark Ages, we are called to be light in our world today. This doesn't mean we have to be perfect, but that we allow God's light to shine through us. Reflect on areas in your life where you can shine God's light more brightly. Is it in your workplace, your neighborhood, or your family? Pray for courage to stand for truth and love in a world that often rejects both. Ask God to use you as an instrument of His light, bringing hope and transformation to those around you.
